#Panera Bread Event Sherman Oaks - Panera Bread Sherman Oaks Grand Opening

Wide Range of Pastry Options

On May 27, 2013 Panera Bread in Sherman Oaks had their Grand Opening.  We were pleased to have received an invitation to attend this event and be amongt the first 100 to arrive.  Panera gave the first 100 guest and customers a gift of free bread for a year (one loaf a month).

This new Sherman Oaks location sits in what some may remember as the old Billy Blanks studio.

We were greeted by friendly smiles and warm hellos from the entire staff.   Upon meeting Jacob Bustos, Panera District Manager we understood why everyone was so nice. He was so friendly and was eager to feed us.  Bustos offered us a complimentary meal.  Initially I selected the roasted turkey and sundried tomato pesto, but after a long conversation with Bustos, my food got cold an he insisted I order it again, but then he suggested the Mediterranean egg white sandwich.  I took his advice and order that without the egg white and it was amazing.  No....I did not let my first sandwich go to waste I gave it my son for lunch.  As for Ari she ordered the Mediterranean veggie sandwich and she really liked it, but all the while she kept eyeing my sandwich.  I saying eyeing, because I was not going to share this one.  I loved it!

Breakfast Sandwiches

We took a tour of the new store and enjoyed watching the staff prepare the bread and get ready for the day.  The crafted, baked bread is made fresh every morning  with no preservatives.  It is expected to last up to three days as opposed to the bread lasting for two weeks at your local super market.  We would definitely prefer the fresher bread with no preservatives.    Panera offers 15 different bread varieties on their menu.  The bread menu does not change often, but there are new sandwiches created.
Signature and café sandwiches with freshly baked bread

The menu has a nice selection of sandwiches, baked goods, pastas, salads, soups and soufflés.  Panera was one of the first restaurants to have the calorie counter on their menu.  We have to admit on this day we just glanced at the calorie counter, but will use it in the future.   Panera also has a hidden menu.  We do not know what is on it, but will find out when we return.

Bagel Packs for on the go needs

Panera Bread  prides it's self on giving back to the community.  Dough nations are given each night to local charities in the local area of each Panera Bread location.  For every night there is a certain charity selected and it us up to them to pick up the bread.

This new Sherman Oaks location is going to be a success. It is on the boulevard where everything is happening.  They have free wifi, who could beat that, along with great food.   At the end of June they will have their ribbon cutting ceremony.   For those of you in Westlake Village, expect to see a new café in your area by early August.

We were are glad that were extended and invitation to partake in such a fun event.

  1. I love to walk into Panera when the fresh breads come out of the oven. I always end up taking a loaf or a bag of bagels home with me!

    1. We truly understand! Bread has not been apart of our families diet in years. We rarely eat it, but after this event we left with four loaves. The raisin bread is awesome!

    1. Our family is eating so much bread right now. We are committed to evening walks to burn it off. Well it is more for mom (Keiunta) than anyone.

  3. MMM Love Panera, they have some tasty soups & salads. They had some flat bread pizzas, not sure if they still have them. I need to go try the breakfast sandwiches.

    1. We are not sure about the flat bread. If it is not on the regular menu it may be on the hidden menu. We are attending the ribbon cutting ceremony and are planning on having soup and salad.

    1. Trying to have a low carb diet is so hard when going to Panera. Yes, we could eat a salad, but who wants that when the bread smells sooooo good!

  7. I love panera and they do so much for the community too. I want them to open up one close to me so I would not have to drive 30 minutes to one

    1. I understand. There is not one exactly close to me. Even if it is 10 minutes away I still have to deal with traffic. With the new one that is opening up in Westlake Village. I will not have to deal with traffic. I hope opens close to you as well.
